I already posted this on reddit but not really getting any conversation there, so trying my luck here.
I'm not sure how exactly I triggered the laugh of Mr. Peeks (and I haven't been able to reproduce this) but here is what I remember:
I'm not sure how exactly I triggered the laugh of Mr. Peeks (and I haven't been able to reproduce this) but here is what I remember:
- I beat the boss and the entire match without down at round 24 (I used raindrop/idol eyes/power keg at phase 4), then got teleported back to the spawn after I chose continue. I also completed the pistol trial (and got the seed relic) before I fought the boss.
- I didn't know about the zombie with a lightning rod at the time, but I threw a kazimir so I could loot the bonus items from completing the main EE. Looting must have triggered a shock mimic from spawning, but I definitely DID NOT have the shock mimic relic equipped.
- The shock mimic sends a shockwave which disables my kazimir, so to avoid being cornered at spawn I ran away but this is the moment I heard Mr. Peeks laugh (I thought it was the seed trial respawning due to me finishing the boss which might have reset the trial but could it be actually triggering because the light rod was powered by the shock wave from the mimic?)
- I exfil at 26 because I've done what I came to do (getting the seed relic and pack-a-punch camo)
I only realized what I might have missed after learning about the zombie with lighting rod ... I wish I had stuck around to check if there is new portal...
