Players can only carry 4 Perks at a time (drinking a 5th replaces the oldest perk)
Step 1: Equip All Grim Relics
Before starting your Cursed Mode match, equip all 3 Grim Relics:
- Lawyer's Pen
- Dragon Wings
- Teddy Bear
This enables Tier 1 and unlocks Golden Armor (45,000 Essence at Armor stations).
Step 2: Reach Round 40
Survive until Round 40. Make sure you have:
- Pack-a-Punch Tier 3 weapons
- Legendary Rarity weapons
- Golden Armor purchased
- All essential perks
From Round 40 onward, a Doppelghast will spawn every round.
Step 3: Kill a Doppelghast with a Jump Pad
When a Doppelghast spawns, clear all other zombies first and leave just the Doppelghast alive.
Lure the Doppelghast to any Jump Pad on the map. Position yourself so the Doppelghast follows you onto the pad, then activate the Jump Pad to kill it mid-flight.
You will hear a sinister laugh confirming the kill method worked.
Step 4: Start the Relic Trial
Go to Zarya Cosmodrome and find the yellow portal underneath the Space Rocket.
Interact with it to begin the Sinister Trial.
Trial Rules: You CANNOT buy anything - ammo, weapons, perks, and wall buys are all disabled!
Step 5: Complete the Trial
Survive 5 waves of zombies (2 waves are HVT rounds).
Tips:
- Get the Vulture Aid perk beforehand to recover ammo from dead zombies.
- Use Cache Back Gobblegum to refill ammo.
- Open all doors in Zarya Cosmodrome before starting for more room to maneuver.
- Bring plenty of lethal equipment.
After completing all 5 waves, you will receive the VRIL Sphere relic.
